Dear John, We have an important update: The U.S. Senate vote on HJ Res 140 has been delayed, and is expected to be taken back up the week of February 23. The Senate is in recess next week. … but that doesn’t mean we should stop reaching out! Contacting your Senators and spreading the word in your networks across the country is so important - and a delayed vote just means that we have more time to persuade them to VOTE NO because of what we already know: the Boundary Waters watershed is the wrong place for copper mining.
Take action and spread the word today.
You can copy this message to share with friends and family: - The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is threatened by proposed copper mining immediately upstream.
- This vulnerable upstream area was protected in 2023, but now there’s a legislative scheme to undo those protections.
-
You can help this special place! Call the Congressional Switchboard to contact your U.S. Senators and tell them: Protect the Boundary Waters by VOTING NO on House Joint Resolution 140.
