Dear John,

Legislative session is just around the corner, and our public policy team will be upholding your values at our Capitol – protecting beginning and end of life, the family and religious freedom.

Here are a few ways Minnesota Family Council is privileged to advance good public policy in 2026, thanks to your support:

✅ Requiring digital p*rnography companies to age gate users

58% of teens in the United States have accidentally seen p*rn. Minnesota Family Council has been advancing legislation for the past couple years to require companies to employ age verification (similar laws have passed in half the states) and has secured bipartisan support for our 2026 bill. Laws like our bill have been upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, which we have urged them to do. The bottom line is that creating a safer internet for youth users is common sense, as reflected in research released this week finding 8 in 10 U.S. adults believe that p*rnography websites should require age verification for entrance.

✅ Requiring social media platforms to obtain parental consent for users under 16, remove addictive features and commercial advertising for these users

Social media platforms are designed to addict users, regardless of age, by keeping brain space for as much time as possible. This design disproportionately affects a child’s developing brain. Minnesota Family Council is advancing legislation which would require Verifiable Parental Consent for users under 16 years old. If a parent provides consent, the user experience for the youth account holder must be altered. The platform can no longer use addictive features such as infinite scroll, autoplay video, a profile-based feed, and push notifications. No commercial advertising may target a user of a minor account, and the privacy features must be turned on.

✅ Requiring the MN Department of Health (MDH) to provide information on Restorative Reproductive Medicine in its materials

The MDH provides guidelines for Minnesotans struggling with infertility. Unfortunately, the guidelines only provide education on options which bypass the body, focusing on assisted reproductive technologies such as in-vitro fertilization, cryopreservation of eggs, and embryo storage. Minnesota Family Council supports legislation to require the MDH to include information about restorative reproductive medicine into existing public health programs including family planning services, maternal and child health programs, and women’s health initiatives.

You can get more details about our strategy to defend your values HERE. As you can see, there are many opportunities to advance pro-family legislation in 2026. Will you consider supporting our work at the Capitol?
