The threat comes after the Nuclear Regulatory Review report (aimed at speeding up the delivery of nuclear technology and infrastructure) which, along with several other alarming proposals, recommended to either remove or limit the new Protected Landscapes Duty.
This legal Duty is the only real power National Parks have to secure action for nature and something we campaigned for for 30 years.
Today we’re releasing the findings from a Freedom of Information (FOI) request we obtained which revealed the Nuclear Regulatory Taskforce’s recommendation to scrap the Protected Landscapes Duty is not based on evidence.
