John,
We’ve been hearing a lot about immigrants and undocumented workers lately — and all of it is a pack of lies. Immigrant workers are nothing like the villains Trump is making them out to be.
This week, we are fortunate to have a great champion of immigrant worker rights, former Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su, with us to correct the record.
From her groundbreaking representation of over 70 Thai garment workers trafficked to the U.S. and forced to work 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, behind barbed wire and under armed guard, she has held companies responsible and won millions of dollars in unpaid wages. She continued her crucial work in the Biden administration.
I hope you’ll watch this week’s video to see Julie Su describe the abuses immigrant workers face on the job and break down what we must do
to protect them from exploitation.
Don’t believe the lies. The real villains are the greedy corporations that want workers fighting one another while they rake in record profits at workers’ expense. Protecting vulnerable workers improves standards and safety for everyone — no matter where they were born.
Thank you for watching, and I hope you’ll share this video with your friends. We are always strongest when we stand together.
