Hey there,
Did you catch the words on the big screen during Bad Bunny’s performance on Sunday night?
🗣️ “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
We know this is true because we see it everyday in our communities. Despite ICE unleashing all-out terror in our cities, our neighbors continue showing up daily to care for each other.
We’ve seen it in Minnesota, where below-freezing temperatures don’t stop our neighbors from gathering in mass community-organized protests.
We see it everyday in our hospitals and schools, where thousands of DACA recipients use their knowledge and skills to care for our loved ones.
And, we saw it last week, when hundreds of community members answered the call to attend our “Powered by Love, Not Cages” Call and write letters to our neighbors in detention. In the face of fear and uncertainty, we’re choosing community, solidarity, and collective power. ✊🧡
👉There’s still time for you to show up with care and love for your neighbors in detention! Sign up to our letter-writing gathering and deliver notes of solidarity to our neighbors when they need it most.
Will you join us at our “Powered by Love, Not Cages” Community Call on Thursday, February 12, at 7 pm ET/ 6 pm CT?
RSVP NOW
In a moment where our neighbors are being held in detention hundreds of miles away from their loved ones, a note of solidarity can make them feel closer to home and remind them that our community has their back.
At our letter writing gathering on Thursday, we’ll:
-
🫂 Make meaning of this moment together
-
✍️ Write letters of encouragement and solidarity to our neighbors in detention
-
🧡 Learn how to bring our friends and family together to write more letters
Will you invite your loved ones to grab their pen and paper, and join you at our “Powered by Love, Not Cages” Community Call on Thursday?
