We are one step away from banning puberty blockers for “gender reassignment.”
Tuesday at the Capitol brought a major win on the Senate Floor via an amendment offered to HB 54, a healthcare related bill by our friend Rep. Carter Barrett.
The amendment was originally offered by Sen. Ben Watson and then expounded upon via a secondary amendment by Sen. Blake Tillery. Together, the additional language does two things:
-
Ban the use of puberty blockers for the purpose of “gender transition,” and
-
Ban the use of taxpayer funds for “gender reassignment”
With passage of the bill – with the amendments added – we are now one step away from protecting kids and taxpayer funds from radical gender ideology.
Praise God!

Others may cross their fingers and hope good things happen and then report back to you. We, on the other hand, are actively pressing an agenda, partnering with legislators, and bringing a proactive strategy to the process.
We are so grateful for Sen. Ben Watson, who has been working with us on this issue for a 3rd session now. Additionally, we are grateful for Sen. Blake Tillery, who has been a staunch advocate for tax dollars on this front. And, we thank Lt. Governor Burt Jones and all the Georgia Republican Senators (no Democrats voted for it) who stood up for what is right!
Now, we are asking the State House to agree to HB 54 as amended to settle this critical issue in our state!
One more step,
Cole
