Remember Mark Baisley, the Republican State Senator who described his LGBTQ+ colleagues as having “a brokenness in their spirits and in their minds” and tried to ban gay marriage in 2020? Well, he’s making headlines again:

Baisley said that the five-year-old who was detained by ICE and sent to a detention facility was “rescued.” He also blamed protestors in Minneapolis for the violence ICE agents have inflicted on their city.

This is despicable.

American citizens have been killed. A five-year-old was separated from his family and taken into custody. Masked officers are tossing people into unmarked cars without due process.

But Mark Baisley is going after peaceful protestors and our immigrant communities.

That’s not what we stand for here in Colorado. MAGA Republicans clearly want to elect a far-right extremist who will act as a rubber stamp for Donald Trump’s dangerous agenda, no matter how much it hurts Coloradans.
