Hi there! My name is Kata, and I’m the Deputy Director of Grassroots Programs at Contest Every Race.

One of my main responsibilities is overseeing our grassroots fundraising program. I wanted to talk about the importance of those grassroots donations, even if it’s just a single dollar!

At Contest Every Race, we help recruit and support Democrats who want to run for local office in places Democrats don’t typically run. Last year, we won 49% of our elections, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that every dollar helped us do it.

I know $1 on its own doesn’t sound like a lot…and to be honest, it’s not. But when thousands of people chip in $1, it adds up. And those dollars combined get us one step closer to driving our victory margins up and making our democracy more representative.
