Blackouts haven't stopped our team in Kyiv.

John, my name is Tamara and I am a Content Officer for the International Rescue Committee in Kyiv, Ukraine.

After nearly four years of war, we are living through the hardest winter yet. Millions of people are struggling to stay warm. Airstrikes continue to damage our hospitals, schools and energy infrastructure. Countless people have been left without heat or water—and entire cities are cut off from electricity for hours on end.

But repeated blackouts and freezing temperatures have not stopped us.

SEND WINTER AID »

Take a look at a few photos from my colleagues here in Ukraine of how they're powering through the winter storms:

An adult sits on the floor holding a bundled baby next to a small gas stove heating a pot indoors.
A humanitarian worker assists an elderly woman using a walker inside a worn apartment building.
A woman wearing glasses and a hood works on a laptop beside a lit candle near a window.
Across Ukraine, we're continuing to deliver critical supplies including medical assistance for families suffering in the cold, generators to help hospitals continue running and financial support for families to buy fuel and firewood.

But the need remains immense. Start a monthly gift now to rush lifesaving support to help children and families survive the harsh winter in Ukraine and other crisis zones.

Still, because of supporters like you, we are here—and we will remain here to ensure Ukrainians can recover and rebuild their lives.

Thank you for making this work possible.
