John – It’s been a while since we’ve checked in. Even though I’m healing slowly from this accident, I’m not letting that get in the way of collaborating with communities fighting for change.
I spent the afternoon visiting one of our local community centers recently as we discussed the devastation of climate change from the destructive fire ravaging the Amazon to the lack of clean water being consumed by local children & families.
If you’ve watched the coverage, you’ve surely heard that the Amazon rainforest provides a significant percentage of the oxygen we humans and other animals must have to breathe. If you understand the importance of nutrition, you recognize how polluted water can lead to stunted development & critical health issues. |

Here in my district, much like any big city, we are impacted by national & local climate issues. If we have any hope of providing a clean and livable world for the future, we can’t continue to ignore the climate crisis, and the actions we must take now to address it.
That’s why I have pledged to support the Green New Deal. We have no time to wait. For too long, we’ve had politicians who take their corporate PAC money, and their fossil fuel lobby money, and turn their backs on the people of their districts who are left with the effects of pollution and global warming.
It will take all of us working together to make real change in the halls of government. That’s why I need your support. Please pitch in today and help my grassroots campaign reach every person in IL-07.
