Hello John,
Two hundred and fifty years ago, American colonists took a stand against an
unjust, tyrannical, and overbearing government.
They took “one small step to lead America forward.”
Many of the leaders who helped turn the Declaration of Independence into
reality had already served in uniform.
For example, before becoming commander-in-chief and major general of the
Continental Army, a young George Washington served in the French and Indian War.
Here’s the bottom line: Veterans have always been at the center of our
nation’s civic life, and 250 years ago, they took the initiative to declare
their independence from a system thatno longer represented their values.
This spirit of courage and accountability is at the heart of everything we do
at CVA.
That’s why we’re teaming up with our partners at Americans for Prosperity and
The LIBRE Initiative tocelebrate America’s 250th

anniversary, while reflecting on the principles that our founders valued.
We kicked things off with a launch event in historic Philadelphia, where
attendees listened to engaging speakers, ate great food, and reflected on our
nation’s history.
You can watch my pre-celebration message in Philadelphia below:

To help bring these principles to life, we’ll be:
• Sending you monthly tools to take your steps for liberty — from signing a
digital Declaration of Independence to sharing your American Dream story.
• Hosting regular events all over the country, each with a different theme,
celebrating America’s founding.
To start, we’re asking you to:
