Last week we sounded the alarm: prohibitionists are seeking to repeal voter-approved marijuana legalization laws in multiple states.

In Massachusetts, out-of-state dark money has provided millions to place an initiative on the November ballot dismantling the adult-use market. They are also working to place a similar measure on the ballot in Arizona. In Maine, prohibitionists failed to qualify a similar effort for this year’s ballot, but they are continuing to collect signatures – typically by misleading voters – to qualify for the 2027 ballot. And just last week, Oklahoma’s governor called for shutting down the state’s voter-approved medical cannabis program.

In short, marijuana legalization is facing existential threats. Big-moneyed interests are seeking to undo the will of the people. We can’t let them win!
