Dear Friend,
Here’s a story I’ll never forget, once I learned the truth behind it.
In 1917, a small group of revolutionaries led by Vladimir Lenin seized power in Russia. They promised a better, fairer world…sound familiar?
But soon after taking control, they began rounding up and executing anyone who stood in their way. Lenin even ordered his followers to hang landowners and seize their crops—so that for miles around, “people see, and tremble...”
Marxism began with promises of a perfect world—and ended in fear, famine, and death.
You may be familiar with that dark history, but too many Americans aren’t. How do I know?
Because a century later, these dangerous ideas have been repackaged and rebranded. They’re taught in schools and promoted by celebrity politicians using words such as “equity,” “diversity,” and “social justice.”
The words sound harmless, but the ideas behind them are the same. Will they end up with the same terrifying results?
That’s why Hillsdale College has created the National Quiz on Marxism, Socialism, and Communism, and I’d love for you to take it.
You can complete your National Quiz on Marxism, Socialism, and Communism using this secure link:
https://info.hillsdale.edu/marxism-quiz-tf
This short quiz will test your knowledge of the history and real-world consequences of dangerous ideologies like Marxism and socialism.
And when you finish, we’ll email you the answers, and you can watch our free online documentary-style course, “Marxism, Socialism, and Communism,” which tells the whole story—from Lenin’s Red Terror to today’s Cultural Marxism.
Most young Americans have never learned this history. I know I didn’t in high school. But you can help change that with your financial support today.
After you take your quiz, please also consider giving a tax-deductible gift of $25, $50, or even $100 to help us share this free course with millions of Americans—especially young people who are misled by the same false ideas that once brought such misery to Russia and the world.
Because of you, more Americans will learn that the principles of liberty in the Declaration of Independence—not Marxism—are the true path to ordered freedom and human flourishing.
Good luck on the quiz.
Warm regards,
Bill Gray, ’01 Vice President Institutional Advancement Hillsdale College
P.S. Lenin’s revolution began with promises of equality but ended with terror. The same ideas are spreading again today under new labels.
