Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov The Week Ahead We have another busy week in Washington focused on agriculture, infrastructure, and election integrity. This morning, I participated in a House Agriculture Committee meeting to discuss what needs to be done in Farm Bill 2.0 to provide farmers, ranchers and agricultural producers the long-term certainty they deserve. Later today, I am attending a Transportation and Infrastructure member briefing with FAA Administrator Bedford, along with a meeting of the E15 Rural Domestic Energy Council to work towards signing year-round E15 into law. Tommorrow, I’ll participate in a full Transportation and Infrastructure Committee markup on four pieces of legislation that encourage the reshoring of jobs to America and reduce the costs of public infrastructure projects for taxpayers. The House will also vote on the SAVE America Act, commonsense legislation to require voter ID in federal elections, and the Securing America’s Critical Minerals Supply Act to strengthen our domestic supply chains and reduce reliance on foreign adversaries. Meetings in the Office Kansas Community Colleges Salina Regional Health Center Kansas Special Olympics Milacron Community Care Network of Kansas Honeywell Aerospace Advanced Air Mobility Funding the Government at Responsible Levels Last week, the House passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2026, sending five full-year appropriations bills to President Trump’s desk. This moves the country closer to stable, full-year funding and reflects months of bipartisan, bicameral work to keep the federal government functioning and provide certainty for families, businesses, and communities. The legislation brings pay raises for our service members, strengthens national defense, invests in education and medical research, improves aviation and transportation safety, and modernizes critical infrastructure. It also includes a short-term continuing resolution for the Department of Homeland Security to ensure border security, emergency response, and other essential services remain operational while final negotiations continue. Republicans are stewarding taxpayer dollars by responsibly funding the government at conservative levels. Promises made, promises kept. Accepting Summer Intern Applications My first experience in Washington was as an intern for a Kansas Congressman, so I understand just how impactful a great internship can be. Telephone Town Hall Meetings in the Office I spent time last week with Kansans and industry leaders in my Washington office speaking about federal policy that impacts our state. I visited with the General Aviation Manufacturers Association about transportation and infrastructure priorities that support aviation manufacturing, spoke with the Kansas Fraternal Order of Police about public safety, and welcomed KU Chancellor Doug Girod to discuss higher education and research in Kansas. I also met with the Kansas Rural Water Association to talk about federal water policy, with Security Benefit to discuss American artificial intelligence leadership, and with Leadership Sorghum participants to hear directly from producers about the future of Kansas agriculture.
