Here’s an update from our campaign:
** Making Housing More Affordable
------------------------------------------------------------
Housing costs continue to rise, making it harder for young families to afford their first home. Over the last 7 years, the median price of a home in Wisconsin increased from $180,000 to $389,000.
Housing remains expensive, in part, because of a lack of supply and government regulations. We currently need 6 million ([link removed]) more homes to meet housing demand.
We also need to address the costs of government regulations. One study found that government regulations add 24% ([link removed]) to the cost of a new home. For the average home in Janesville priced at $280,000, that’s $66,000 ([link removed]) in regulatory costs.

In Congress, I am working to make housing more affordable and address the root causes of high costs.
Today, Congress passed the Housing for the 21st Century Act ([link removed]) . This package of bills, including my Accelerating Homebuilding Act, ([link removed]) will update housing programs to reduce regulatory costs, improve lending policies, streamline development approvals, and increase housing supply.
These reforms will help make housing more affordable for working families and seniors.
** Election Integrity
------------------------------------------------------------
It’s important that our elections are safe, secure, and transparent. Today, many families lack trust in our elections.

As chairman of the House Administration Committee, I am working to secure our elections. That includes introducing legislation to:
* Require photo ID
* Require citizenship verification to register to vote
* Count votes by Election Day
* End unrequested, universal mail-in voting
And more…
These reforms are common sense, which is why so many Americans support them. We know that when voters have confidence in their elections, it can improve participation.

By strengthening election integrity, we can increase voter participation. After Georgia passed their election integrity legislation in 2021, the state saw record turnout. ([link removed])
We should institute similar reforms nationwide like Voter ID, citizenship verification, and clean voter rolls ensuring secure elections.
** County Caucuses
------------------------------------------------------------
Last week, the Walworth and Racine County Republican Parties held their annual caucuses. These were great events, attended by dedicated conservatives working to keep Wisconsin Red in 2026.
Strong county parties are key to winning WI-01, retaining control of the House of Representatives, and winning statewide.
