My name is Ams - I’m a climate activist with XR Youth Cambridge.
I've suffered from severe depression since I was 13. With medication and support, I began to get better. The more I recovered, the more I fell in love with the world and the beauty of nature.
Just as I started to feel that I didn’t want to die, I became aware that my future, and the future of every young person on the planet, was at risk because of the climate and ecological crisis.
This made me so angry.
There are so many young people like me, who are ready to take to the streets in September. But travelling to London, Manchester and Cardiff is expensive and we need help to get there.

By around 2050, if things keep going as they are, it’s predicted that as many as 5 billion people will face shortages of food and clean water. That’s one in every two people. I’ll be 52.
Now I know I want to live, I’m not prepared to let governments steal my future - all of our futures. This is why I rebel.
With your help, more young people can travel to the rebellion this September, and stand up to save this beautiful planet.
