John,
Something big just happened in New Jersey, and Washington is paying attention.
AIPAC poured $2 million into a Democratic primary to try to knock out Analilia Mejia, the only candidate in the Democratic primary for New Jersey’s 11th District who condemned the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
And it backfired.
Voters rejected AIPAC’s interference and instead lifted up a candidate who has been outspoken about Palestinian human rights. It’s clear that AIPAC has just failed their attempt to buy a race.
AIPAC thinks they can buy this seat too, but just like Analilia Mejia did in New Jersey, we can show them that our people-power is greater than their $$$.
We want to be clear with you about something that sets this campaign apart:
Angela refuses to take AIPAC money. Jimmy Gomez does not.
Gomez has taken AIPAC-backed money while voting to fund endless war and ignoring the harm those policies cause to families here and abroad. When AIPAC writes checks, he cashes them.
Our movement for Congress believes our communities deserve representation that answers to people, not to powerful lobbying groups trying to shape Congress with dark money and fear.
What happened in New Jersey proves something we’ve been saying all along. When voters show up. When grassroots donors step up. When campaigns are powered by people instead of PACs.
Together, we can send the same message New Jersey just did, loud and clear.
With gratitude and determination,
Team Angela
