The second election of Donald Trump in 2024 reflected the anger at real problems that regular Americans face — chief among them being our unaffordable economy and the ever-rising cost of basic essentials, from healthcare to groceries to rent.
But what we have seen from Trump 2.0 has not been a focus on the economy. Instead, Trump and his allies have undergone a massive transformation of the federal government in his image, sliding America into fascism and making life worse for all of us.
Under Trump we have seen power abused time and time again; budgets for essential programs slashed illegally, millions kicked off their healthcare, ICE agents acting as a secret police and brutalizing Americans, pedophiles like Epstein protected, ultra-wealthy scammers and fraudsters pardoned, Trump’s DOJ lackeys launching political prosecutions and investigations, and much much more.
And in the meantime, prices have continued to rise and the average working class American continues to fall behind while billionaires like Trump, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos enjoy lower taxes and more wealth than humanity has ever seen.
Our only way forward is to propose a bold but common sense alternative: A working-class agenda that centers affordability, decency, and justice for all. A vision of the future where every American gets the healthcare, housing, education, good-paying job, and safe neighborhood they deserve.
Ilhan Omar has fought for that agenda since she first came to Congress in 2019, and has never backed down from taking the right stance on the issues that matter, like supporting Medicare-for-All or fighting to end the Gaza genocide.
But nobody, not Ilhan or anyone else, can do this alone. Change comes from thousands, or even millions, of people coming together in a mass movement and demanding change from the ground up. And for Ilhan, change requires overcoming the immense power of Trump, the far-right, billionaires, AIPAC, corporate interests, and the entire establishment.
