John, when I ran for Governor, I was ready to address the challenges and opportunities facing our state.

Our public schools need better funding, and public school teachers need a raise. We need to keep making health care more affordable and accessible — especially in our rural areas. And we need to bring costs down on the things that are making it hard for families to get by: health care, housing, utilities, and more.

Our administration will keep at this work. Unfortunately, far-right lawmakers control our General Assembly, and they’ve failed to come to the table when it matters. That’s why it’s so important to me to do everything I can in support of strong Democratic lawmakers across North Carolina.

In December, I was proud to endorse Rep. Rodney Pierce for re-election. We can’t win back the General Assembly if we lose seats already held by Democrats, and Rodney’s up for a tough fight.
