Democracy Docket: "Florida Lawmakers Schedule Launch for Mid-Decade GOP gerrymander"
John,
I became an organizer and ran for Congress for one reason: to make sure the people who are usually shut out of politics finally have a seat at the table.
That mission hasn’t changed.
But right now, Florida Republicans are preparing to redraw the congressional map — not because communities have changed, but because power is slipping away from them.
Florida is the last line of defense for Republicans to keep control of Congress. And instead of competing for votes, they’re choosing to manipulate the map.
Mid-decade redistricting is their strategy to lock in power — and Central Florida is one of their top targets. They know they can’t win on a level playing field. So they’re trying to rig it.
In the days ahead, we’ll be organizing, mobilizing, and fighting back against these gerrymandered maps — because representation should be earned, not engineered.
Our community deserves a real voice in Congress, not one hand-picked behind closed doors in Tallahassee. But this fight takes resources, and I can’t do it alone.
So please, if you’re able, will you chip in $27 right now to fund our fight against GOP gerrymandering? Every dollar fuels organizing, outreach, and the grassroots push to stop DeSantis and his cronies from rigging the system. >>

Let’s send a clear message: Florida isn’t for sale, and voters deserve to choose their representatives — not the other way around.
Let's get to work.
