Share your story: Tell us your American Dream
<[link removed]>

Hi John,

When Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, he put forward a
revolutionary idea.

All men and women have the right to the “pursuit of happiness.”

Before America’s founding, that wasn’t obvious: Much of life was decided by a
king, rigid traditions, or social class.

By declaring independence, Americans chose the freedom to chart their own path.

That freedom did not make life easier.

Choosing for yourself often means risk, responsibility, and hard work. But
America was built by people willing to take that harder path in pursuit of
something meaningful.

That belief became the American Dream. For nearly 250 years, it has been lived
by those who create a better future than the one they were handed by:

* Risking a steady paycheck to start something of their own.
* Staying late to build a better future for your kids.
* Stepping up to serve one’s community.
As part of One Small Step, Americans across the country are stepping forward
to share their American Dream story.

We’re inviting you to add your voice

by answering one simple question on camera:

* What does the American Dream mean to you, and what does pursuing happiness
look like in your life today?
* Recording your answer is easy: Click the link and we’ll walk you through it.
* Some of you may still be working toward your dream, while others may have
already accomplished it. We want to hear from both sides.

Your story matters. It shows that freedom still works and that opportunity
grows when people are free to choose the harder, more meaningful path.

Thank you for being part of America’s next chapter,
