Friend,

I want to be honest with you.

In recent weeks, my work at City Hall has drawn national attention. Not because it’s extreme, but because it reflects the values we hold here in Philadelphia: dignity, accountability, and care for our neighbors.

My legislation to hold ICE accountable and protect our city has become a target for well-funded MAGA groups from outside Philadelphia. These groups are pouring money and misinformation into our local politics in an attempt to pressure leaders and undermine work that puts people first.

This isn’t about partisan noise, it’s about whether outside extremists get to dictate what happens in our city, or whether Philadelphia continues to lead with courage and compassion.

I brought this legislation forward because I believe our city should be a place where families feel safe, where local government answers to the people, and where no one is used as a political pawn. I know many of you share those values.

Standing up to coordinated, national attacks takes real resources. We need to communicate clearly with residents, correct false claims, and make sure our staff and community partners are supported as this work moves forward.

If you’re able, I’m asking you to chip in at this critical moment. If you can, please give $25, $50, or $100 today to help us hold the line, and stand up for Philadelphia.

I won’t back down from this fight, but I can’t do it alone. I’m grateful to have a community that shows up when our values are tested.

In service,
Rue Landau
