Today, I’m featured in this year’s “Next 50” from the Washington Post — a list of fifty Americans reshaping how our country thinks, works, and creates. As honored as I am, this recognition really belongs to the people of Maine.


During the most difficult moments of the pandemic, Mainers showed up for one another, trusted science, and put community first. None of us did it on our own — it was the thousands of dedicated public health workers, clinicians, and volunteers who worked together to keep our state safe.

Governing our state requires the same focus, compassion, and clarity that was required to lead Maine through the pandemic: solving hard problems, telling the truth, and keeping people safe.

That’s why I’m running to be Maine’s next governor, but I can’t do it on my own.

It doesn’t matter if I’m on a list sandwiched between members of the Trump family or folks like James Talarico and Zohran Mamdani — the only list that really matters to me is being number one on Mainers’ list for governor. And only you can help me do that.
