John,
After the massive November Blue Wave of 2025, we pledged to start 2026 even stronger. We’ve had three special elections so far, and Connecticut Democrats are 3 for 3!
First, Iris Sánchez delivered a big win in New Britain, holding the 25th House District with early organizing and strong community support.
Then, voters in Ledyard, Montville, and Norwich elected Larry Pemberton to the 139th House District. He didn’t just win – he won by 36 points in a competitive district! That historic victory made Rep. Pemberton the first Native American elected to the Connecticut General Assembly.
And last week, Fairfield voters delivered another decisive victory for CT Dems. In a race decided by high turnout and local organizing, Christine Vitale won by double-digits, defeating the GOP sitting state senator and making Connecticut Democrats 3-for-3 this year. |
Special elections test everything about a party, from turnout and infrastructure to message and follow-through. Winning one is hard. Winning three in a row tells us something important. When Democrats organize early, run on our values, and stay engaged, voters will elect Democratic candidates in every corner of the state. There’s more work ahead, and we’d love to have you with us. |
Thank you for being part of a party that shows up, follows through, and wins. Onward, Your CT Dems |
