SFUSD has provided information and resources for families outlining: learning continuity, food distribution, and other public options for extended day care. 

The City and ​its community partners will provide free breakfast and lunch for all youth ages 18 for children reliant on SFUSD for their meals. For more information, please consult the Department of Children, Youth, and Families’ website here.

The Department of Early Childhood (DEC) is offering temporary child care for families with children under 5 who are affected by the SFUSD teacher strike. For more information, check this website. 

Public Libraries will be open for their regular hours listed here. Children are welcome to visit, though children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 

The City’s Department of Recreation & Parks afterschool programs have been extended to full-day programs for children who are currently enrolled in their programs. Families should have already received information on this extension from Rec & Park directly.
