Dear John,

Now more than ever, we need a place to go that will inspire empathy, celebrate resilience, and encourage action. We need a place that supports community, compassion, and courage, a place that represents the possibilities, what could be, and what we need to build a future without violence.

Now more than ever, we need the Courage Museum.

This spring we move from concept to creation and begin construction of the Courage Museum’s immersive learning installations and education center. Our partner, renowned museum designer Jake Barton, founder and principal of the experience design firm Local Projects is creating the museum’s six installations. Local Projects produced the 9/11 National Memorial and Museum in New York City, the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama, and Planet Word in Washington, DC, among others.
Pictured is a rendering of one of the Courage Museum exhibits called, "Empathy Mirrors".
It’s an exciting time at the Courage Museum as the physical space takes shape! This will allow us to continue to expand the storytelling and youth education programming already underway.

The first-of-its-kind, interactive museum designed for young leaders of the future and the adults in their lives, the museum will delve into the biological impacts of trauma and healing, the transformational power of empathy, and the role that systems and institutions play in shaping the opportunities and experiences of individuals and communities.

Read more about what a visitor can expect from the Courage Museum in our blog. And sign up for the Courage Museum newsletter for updates and to learn how you can get involved as we enter this new phase.

The museum will be more than a collection of exhibits. It will be an experience, and visitors will walk away inspired, challenged, and transformed.

We at FUTURES have always believed that violence is not inevitable. With this museum, you will too, and we’ll give you the tools you need to help make that happen.

Sincerely,
Esta Soler, Founder & President
Rachael Smith Fals, Senior Vice President & Director of the Courage Museum
