BREAKING NEWS:
Sierra Club just filed a lawsuit to stop the construction of a massive industrial mining road that would carve through Alaska's Gates of the Arctic National Preserve.
These are the fights we need to win to protect public lands.
Alaska's Gates of the Arctic National Preserve is one of the most remote and ecologically rich national parks in the United States. But last year, the Trump administration approved a plan to carve a 211-mile road through these vital wildlands, opening them to toxic mining, heavy truck traffic, and irreversible damage.
It's reckless. It's destructive. And it's illegal — so we're suing. We are once again taking the Trump administration to court to protect wildlife and public lands.
Friend, you power our efforts to fight these battles. When Congress tried to sell off public lands in Trump's big ugly bill, you flooded lawmakers with messages and stopped those sales. When news about the Ambler Road project broke, thousands of people stepped up. This lawsuit exists because our movement came together to take action — and because people like you refuse to give up on the Arctic.
This fight is about so much more than one road – it's about whether we allow the last truly wild places on the planet to be sacrificed for corporate greed, or whether we stand up to say that our country's wild places are worth more than what can be extracted from them.
As our thanks for joining us in this fight, we'll send you a stainless steel tumbler with any gift of $15 or more. But most importantly, your donation right now moves us closer to our $40,000 goal and gives our team the resources needed to win.
