When I ran for school board in 2004, I faced a crowded field and two incumbents — and people said I didn’t stand a chance.
I didn't just win. I made history and became the youngest person elected to the Minneapolis Board of Education.
In 2015, I won a special election and became only the second Native American woman in the Minnesota House.
