CHAIRMAN’S MONDAY MEMO 2/9/2026
------------------------------------------------------------

Jason Richey Endorsed by PA GOP State Committee for Lt. Governor

Jason Richey for Lt. Governor Endorsed

This past Saturday, the PA GOP State Committee Winter Meeting was held in Harrisburg, PA. The full elected State Committee body met, and among other business, endorsed Jason Richey for Lieutenant Governor.

Richey is an extremely experienced attorney from Allegheny County, where he also holds the position of Allegheny County GOP Chair.

In an election cycle like 2026, it’s important to have a strong top of the ticket. Pennsylvania Republicans can rest assured that with Garrity and Richey on top of the ticket, Republicans have the opportunity to accomplish great things in 2026.

Shapiro’s Budget: More Spending, More Empty Promises, Higher Taxes

Higher Spending will Hurt Pennsylvanians

Governor Shapiro just rolled out the largest budget in PA history, $53.3 billion, a 5.4% spending increase, and built on revenue that doesn’t exist.

PA’s economy is growing more slowly than other states, and the revenue to balance this budget is unrealistic. This reckless spending all but guarantees future tax hikes on working families.

Talk is cheap. He can say “no new taxes” all he wants, but just saying it doesn’t make it true.

SAVE Act: Senator McCormick Calls for National Voter ID Before Midterms

McCormick Co-Sponsors the SAVE Act

You need a photo ID to be able to board a plane, apply for a job, open a bank account, or cash a check, and if U.S. Senator Dave McCormick gets his way, you’ll need a photo ID to vote too.

McCormick is a co-sponsor of the SAVE Act, which would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.
