Congresswoman Underwood is a registered nurse and public health expert who has fought for Americans’ access to quality healthcare throughout her career. In 2018, she unseated a four-term Republican incumbent and became the first person of color, first woman, and first millennial elected to represent her district. After this historic red-to-blue flip, Congresswoman Underwood became the youngest Black woman to ever serve in Congress. Her incredible journey serves as a reminder that no challenge is insurmountable for women, especially when they have the tools, support, and confidence they need to win.
Congresswoman Underwood joins an incredible line-up of speakers from both our Gala and daytime Conference programs. In the evening, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will take the stage with the newly-elected Mayor of the City of Miami, Eileen Higgins, to commemorate her recent victory and the power of women’s leadership at the local level.
The conference portion of the event will include hands-on trainings designed to provide candidates and campaign leaders with essential skills to compete and succeed, including:
