The United States has completed its long-anticipated exit from the World Health Organization, fulfilling a pledge President Donald Trump made on his first day back in office in 2025. The move formally ended decades of U.S. membership in the global health body. In what could be a game changer in women’s health care, the Health Resources and Services Administration recently announced updated cervical cancer screening guidelines that expand insurance coverage to include at-home screening. This comes after the FDA approved at-home tests in May 2025. Under the new guidelines, insurance providers will be required to cover the test kits beginning in January 2027. Twenty-four lives were lost in last year’s fires. Sadly, the death toll will likely climb as officials reconcile those reported missing. The horrors facing Southern Californians are unfathomable.
