NYT Columnist Says J.D. Vance’s Mother Should Have Sold Him for Drugs
Jamelle Bouie, whom The New York Times has employed as a columnist since 2019, is a real peach. Celebrated as one of the defining columnists of our time and a one-time collaborator with Larry Sabato, Bouie stands as a moral beacon for our age. Fox News: New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie suggested Vice President JD Vance’s mother was right to have attempted to sell him for drugs in a Bluesky post on Wednesday. In a series of comments on the left-wing platform, Bouie criticized Vance for a recent interview with the Daily Mail where he declined to apologize to Minnesota shooting victim Alex Pretti’s family after accusing him of showing up with “ill intent” at an immigration enforcement protest. “[T]his is a wicked man who knows he is being wicked and does it anyway,” Bouie wrote. He added, “like, do you see that smirk? that brief ‘ain’t i a stinker’ grin? beneath contempt.” Bouie also responded to a comment calling Vance “pompous” while musing “No wonder his mom tried to sell him for Percocets.” “[I] can’t imagine a parent who wouldn’t sell little JD for percocet if they knew he would turn out like this,” Bouie remarked. ( Fox News) No words.

Washington Post Publisher Steps Down After Massive Layoffs
Well, that didn’t take long. After sending over 300 so-called “journalists” to the unemployment office to compete for jobs as baristas (a job that probably requires useful skills unknown to them), the Washington Post’s publisher, Will Lewis, has decided to follow them out the door. New York Post: Washington Post CEO Will Lewis stepped down from his position on Saturday — throwing the prestigious Jeff Bezos-owned newspaper into further turmoil just days after the publication laid off some 300 staffers. The Washington Post announced that Lewis would be resigning effective immediately. He was succeeded by Jeff D’Onofrio, the former Tumblr CEO who joined the newspaper this past June as its chief financial officer. D’Onofrio will assume the role of acting publisher and CEO. Lewis framed his departure as the culmination of a difficult but necessary transformation, saying “now is the right time for me to step aside” after two years leading The Washington Post. Conservative Japanese PM Scores Major Electoral Victory
The populist backlash against elite failure keeps growing. The Wall Street Journal: Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi led her party to a thumping victory in parliamentary elections, handing her a powerful mandate to deepen ties with the U.S. and rev up Japan’s economy. The landslide win is a vindication for the 64-year-old conservative, who called the risky snap vote during a snowy Japanese winter only three months after taking office. Her gamble was that her straight-talking appeal to voters would cement her grip on power amid challenges including sluggish economic growth and worsening relations with Beijing. Takaichi’s Liberal Democratic Party and its coalition partner, the Japan Innovation Party, were on track to win at least 310 seats in the 465-seat lower house in Japan’s parliament, according to initial results and projections by public broadcaster NHK. That would hand Takaichi’s government a two-thirds majority in the lower house, giving it overwhelming control of that chamber and the ability to overrule the smaller upper house to push through its agenda. Under Takaichi, the LDP alone was projected to win a majority of seats, according to NHK, a turnaround in the party’s fortunes after more than a decade of coalitions. “We stand at a crossroads that will profoundly transform our nation,” Takaichi said Saturday in a message on social media, urging supporters to turn out and vote. Peggy Noonan Worries That Newspapers Will Disappear and People Will No Longer Be Fed Hoaxes
Peggy Noonan has been ridiculed on X for her lament over the Washington Post’s near collapse. Noonan worries that without journalists, Americans won’t be informed. Noonan at Wall Street Journal: I fear sometimes that few people really care about journalism, but we are dead without it. Someday something bad will happen, something terrible on a national scale, and the thing we’ll need most, literally to survive, is information. Reliable information—a way to get it, and then to get it to the public. That is what journalism is, getting the information. You have to think of it as part of your country’s survival system. Maybe the government will or won’t tell you the truth about what’s going on, maybe the Pentagon will or won’t, but if you know you’ve got this fabulous island of broken toys, professional journalists working for a reputable news organization, you’ve got a real chance of learning what’s true. ( Wall Street Journal) Noonan apparently still believes the Steele Dossier is real, Biden was “sharp as a tack,” a Racoon Dog started COVID, social distancing is “science,” the Covington Kids are Nazis, and that Jussie Smollett was attacked by white supremacists in MAGA Country.

Loudoun County Trains Staff to Fight ‘Terrorist’ Parents Angry About Trans Policies
Is Loudoun County governed by demons? Nick Minoch: On Jan. 13, hours after a Loudoun County Public Schools employee struck and killed a student while driving a district maintenance vehicle, the Loudoun County School Board held a closed-door training focused on the school board’s safety. 7News has learned that the board, under the leadership of new School Board Chair April Chandler, held a closed-door meeting for school board members and staff only. The subject of the meeting? Responding to “terrorist activity” at school board meetings. According to multiple sources who were in the room but requested we not identify them, the terrorism training involved dozens of actors, brought in by the school board, to act as Loudoun County parents. Those pretend “parents” sat in the gallery in the school board meeting room as actual families normally would. In this training, one of the parents has a gun. The actors were screaming and yelling and running around the room, witnesses said. School board members and staff were instructed to “run, hide, and fight,” much the same as training provided to students in the event of an active shooter scenario. Again, according to 7News sources, Chandler referred to parents as “disrupters” and “agitators” as she recalled school board meetings last year which many parents attended to speak up in support of three boys who were being investigated by the district in a case centered around policy allowing students to use the bathroom and locker room that matches their chosen gender identity, rather than their biological sex. Double Shock: Obama’s Fingerprints All Over Russia Collusion Hoax
ICYMI: Paul Sperry of RealClearInvestigations details Obama’s deep connections to the Russia collusion hoax and the politically motivated “investigation” into it. Paul Sperry: Comey’s decision to remove the cloud of scandal over Clinton’s campaign, allowing the president to get on with the business of campaigning for her, is just one avenue of investigation the Justice Department is pursuing in wide-ranging probes whose targets include a figure largely unscathed by his era’s scandals: former President Barack Obama. Attorney General Pam Bondi said prosecutors are investigating, among other things, “possible coordination between the Clinton campaign and the Obama administration to interfere with the 2016 presidential election.” Jason Reding Quiñones, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, has impaneled a grand jury to hear evidence related to an alleged “grand criminal conspiracy” by Obama and Biden officials to enlist law enforcement and intelligence agencies in rigging elections and carrying out political espionage against Donald Trump. Big Win for Free Speech: Polish President Vetoed EU Digital Services Act
Poland has been a holdout, failing to approve the EU’s Digital Services Act by the official 2024 deadline. After extensive negotiations to change the text, Poland’s conservative president decided to veto the measure. Gunther Eagleman: Right-wing President of Poland Karol Nawrocki just VETOED the EU’s tyrannical Digital Services Act push that draconian censorship bill designed to silence dissent and control what you can say online. Nawrocki nailed it: “The state is supposed to GUARANTEE freedom, not RESTRICT it!” Poland standing tall against Brussels’ Big Brother nonsense. This is what real leadership looks like. No bowing to globalist overlords. Poland remains a STRONG ally of the USA and a fighter for liberty. ( Gunther Eagleman on X) The DSA is not dead, but the EU’s ability to expand enforcement is hampered.

Terrorist Who Helped Plot Benghazi Attack Arrested by FBI
Hillary Clinton might not care about finding and punishing the terrorists who assassinated a U.S. ambassador, but Pam Bondi and Kash Patel disagreed. IJR: The suspect Zubayr Al-Bakoush, who landed at Andrews Air Force Base at 3 a.m. on Friday morning, faces charges for murder, terrorism and arson, among others, Bondi said. “From day one, Kash and Dan would sit in meetings and say, ‘We’re going to get him,’” Bondi said. “And they did.” The alleged terrorist “will face American justice on American soil,” Bondi said. “Hillary Clinton famously once said about Benghazi, ‘What difference, at this point, does it make? Well it makes a difference to Donald Trump. It makes a difference to those families,” Bondi continued. “And 14 years later, it makes a difference to law enforcement, who made the difference in this case.” ( Daily Caller News Foundation via IJR)

Washington Post Lionizes…Adam Schiff
Adam Schiff is competing for the title of most evil politician in office today, which means he is a hero to the left. Washington Post reporters, proving that Peggy Noonan is out of her mind, decided to lionize him as a model for other Democrats. Washington Post: In many ways, Schiff, 65, perfectly represents the bifurcated nature of being a Democrat in the age of Trump. As one of his party’s best known figures, Schiff spends a great deal of time and energy sounding the alarm about presidential rhetoric and actions that he believes are a danger to democracy. As an elected official, Schiff also is focused on delivering for constituents, and must complete the same routine work senators have been doing for centuries. All elected Democrats are in the same boat: They are simultaneously attempting to tell Americans that something is off with their government, and trying to keep conducting business as normal.
