Hello, True Texans!
What a great weekend! On Saturday we hosted our TTP Day of Action and called on True Texans across the state to get out and help campaign. I'll be honest and admit my expectations were low. It seems like nobody wants to do the hard work of campaigning anymore. I think they assume candidates will pay someone to do it. But I remember when we first started this organization in 2009, we knew blockwalking was how to win elections... and we won a lot of them by showing up every Saturday, no matter the weather. Long story short... I didn't think many would show up today, but I was wrong! This is one time I'm very happy to be wrong. Thank you, True Texans! Here are just a few pics shared with me early on. There are more, but not in time to make it into this newsletter.
Collin County starting with prayer for Jeff Forester
Wise County out for Andy Hopper
Montgomery County walking for Steve Toth
One Tarrant County group out for Armin Mizani
While another Tarrant County group was working for David Lowe & Cheryl Bean
Bay Area True Texans supporting Scott Bowen
Denton County showed up for Larry Brock
All of these groups and more (we had 13 in all) also distributed our True Texas Project voting recommendations along with the candidate information. They look like this:
You can find our recommendations for around 200 counties at truetexasproject.com/elections. And for those counties where we have satellites and home groups, we have printable flyers like the one above available for your to download, print, and share. Remember, early voting starts in 9 days! You cannot take your phone into the poll booth with you, but you can take our printable lists! For those counties without printable copies, just jot it down or print off a screen shot.
Did you miss it?
Last week in my email, I told you we have a big announcement to make, and that it would come via email on Monday. Did you see it? We announced our plans for the 2026 Texas Tough Gala! I think this is gonna be the biggest and best party we've ever thrown... I'm not exaggerating! And we do have a reputation for good parties! Check it out!
I mean, come on -- we've even got bull riding!!!! I can't wait! Oh, is bull riding not your thing? What about being the judge in a peach cobbler contest? Sign me up!
