Patriot,

Please forgive me for sending you a long email, but it’s about a dire
situation in our country.

Chronic disease is the number one cause of death and disability in America.

The stakes are incredibly high:

* Nearly 50% of children today have at least one chronic disease, a rate
significantly higher than in previous generations.
* Nearly 80% of young adults are overweight or obese.
* 9 out of 10 American deaths and 95% of medical costs are tied to
preventable chronic diseases.
Like me, you probably receive 10+ emails a day asking you for money…

They all act like the sky is falling, but they don’t provide a lot of details
about how their actions can make a difference.

Today, I’m breaking the rules.

Instead of sending you a short email, I’m going to lay out End Chronic
Disease’s comprehensive strategy to equip individuals to take control of their
health and help build healthier, stronger communities.

But first, I’d like to ask you to donate $100, $50, or even just $10 to
support our mission.

Reverse America’s Chronic Disease Crisis
<[link removed]>

The good news is chronic diseases are largely preventable - and in some cases,
even reversible - through dietary and lifestyle adjustments within reach.

I have personally battled chronic autoimmune issues for more than twenty
years and have been able to clinically reverse a number of these through
preventive health measures such as dietary and lifestyle adjustments.

Unfortunately, most people don’t realize what we need to do to mitigate or
even reverse our chronic disease crisis.

Here are some of the ways End Chronic Disease (ECD) is addressing this health
crisis.

Taking Ultra-Processed Foods Out of Schools

An easy win in the fight against chronic illness is identifying and
addressing how ultra-processed foods intensify this crisis.

These foods, which often lack any meaningful nutritional value and are
engineered to be as addictive as cigarettes, have been shown by peer-reviewed
science to cause a number of chronic diseases, such as:

* Diabetes
* Obesity
* Heart disease
* Fatty liver disease
* Cancer
And yet, these foods continue to permeate our grocery shelves, our pantries,
and our schools.

In fact, American children get an estimated 70% of their daily calories from
ultra-processed foods, and much of this is coming from the foods they eat in
schools!

ECD educated and advocated to legislators in California about this growing
issue, and helped pass a historic bill that is set to phase out harmful
ultra-processed foods from school lunches.

You can protect kids from diet-related diseases by donating today!

Educating Americans on Healthy Options

Recent polls indicate that Americans are seeking healthier foods, warnings
about sugar, fewer food additives, and reforms that prioritize preventive
health measures.

Americans are finally claiming agency over their well-being, and their daily
habits are the most powerful defense against chronic disease.

We're so excited that preventive-health concepts are gaining momentum in our
country!

Now it's time to turn that enthusiasm into action.

End Chronic Disease is committed to reversing chronic disease in America
through science-based, prevention-focused education, advocacy, and
collaboration. By driving systems change and amplifying real success stories,
we empower individuals to take control of their health — and build a stronger,
healthier nation.

You can help ensure that future generations benefit from policies that drive
systemic change and foster a healthy, thriving society by donating to End
Chronic Disease today.

Making SNAP Benefits Healthier

Ultra-processed foods and foods with added sugar are some of the most
accessible foods across our country, yet they directly fuel chronic disease.

To make matters worse, many of these items can be purchased with Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, which are designed to make
nutrition more accessible.

However, End Chronic Disease is working with states to take action against
chronic disease by removing items such as energy drinks, carbonated beverages,
cookies, candy, and potato chips from SNAP eligibility, in order to better
support the program's nutrition goals.

12 states have now successfully removed soda from SNAP eligibility with USDA
support — a key step that will help to tackle chronic illnesses fueled by
sugary drinks and a popular measure among voters.

Steps like this are great first steps for moving the needle toward better
health.

ECD is advocating for reform to address this crisis directly through public
policy at the state level and promoting public empowerment through media,
storytelling, and education nationwide.
