John,
It’s no secret that grocery prices have been skyrocketing. That’s why last
week, as co-chair of the Monopoly Busters Caucus, I hosted a hearing in
Seattle to get to the root of why our food is becoming so expensive.
What we found is enraging: For decades, four large corporations have been
swallowing up smaller competitors.
From the farms where the food is sourced, to the factory where it is
manufactured, and the grocery store where it is sold, those four
corporations now control nearly 70% of the grocery market — and they can
now raise prices and reduce food choice without consequences.
It's time that we address this issue head-on. [ [link removed] ]If you're ready to fight
back against corporate monopolies driving up prices, will you pitch in
$3 today to power my work in Congress?

At our hearing, we heard from independent cattle producers, Fred Meyer
workers, small food business owners, and antitrust lawyers.
Their message was clear: Monopolies have hollowed out rural communities,
pushed family farms to the brink, and forced independent grocers out of
business.
"If we care about entrepreneurship, local jobs, food affordability, and
consumer choice, then we must care about who is actually able to
participate in the market. I urge you to stand with small businesses like
mine and help ensure that the American Dream is not something we talk
about in the past tense, but something future founders can still
realistically pursue."

While Trump and Republicans are sitting back as prices skyrocket, we are
standing up and working toward solutions to lower costs for American
families.
That's why 34 Democrats have joined the Monopoly Busters Caucus so far,
standing ready to keep fighting for antitrust enforcement across the
country.
We have defined the problem. Now, we just need the will to act. [ [link removed] ]Can I
count on you to donate $3 to help me keep up the fight
against corporate greed?
