Hi, John, Elaine Luria here. I’m a mom, a Navy vet, and a former Democratic Congresswoman, and now I’m running for Congress in Virginia’s 2nd District.

On January 3rd, 2021, I stood in the House chamber and swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Three days later, the Capitol was attacked, and I had a choice to make: be a politician, or be a patriot.

I put our republic first: I served on the January 6th Committee, seeking truth, justice, and accountability for the American people.

That decision may have cost me my House seat in 2022, after an onslaught of MAGA cash targeted our district. But I’d make the same choice all over again, because I swore an oath—the same oath I swore at 17 when I entered the Naval Academy—to protect the country I love.

That’s why I’m running for Congress.

I’m running to help families get ahead instead of just getting by, to ensure veterans get the support they need, and to defend our Constitution.

These aren’t just talking points, John. We can win this. We’ve already done so twice before. And in November, Virginians proved they’re intent on a new direction.
