Friends , let me explain what’s going on with the Trump administration and more than $10 billion in federal child care funding right now:
→ First, Trump’s HHS illegally froze billions of dollars in federal funding for five blue states — with zero evidence to justify doing so.
→ Then, I sued him — like I’ve done every time Trump breaks the law or violates the Constitution.
→ Within 24 hours, a federal court granted a temporary restraining order to block the funding freeze.
That’s good, but it’s not enough. Low-income families rely on these funds to afford child care so parents can work or go to school — so now, I’m fighting to extend the court’s much-needed protection so families across California and the other targeted states don’t pay the price for Trump’s reckless and illegal maneuvers.
And look — it’s no coincidence that Trump is targeting only blue states here. Since day one of his administration, he’s been attacking Democratic-led states in an effort to force us to comply with his extreme agenda. But if he thinks it will work, he’s sorely mistaken.
