I’m not like most politicians.

I’m just a converse-wearing, donut-eating U.S. Senator who carries around pictures of her new grandbaby everywhere she goes. But that’s not what sets me apart.

What really does the trick is that I didn’t choose public office for the fame, money, or power — I first ran because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives.

Which means...I don’t have a lot of patience for the right-wing megadonors and corporate special interests a lot of folks in Washington depend on. Instead, I rely on grassroots donors like you to get the job done.

With that in mind, will you please donate $5 or more toward our end-of-month goal? Every penny makes a difference, especially when the presidential race in our state is within single digits.

My first job in Minnesota was at General Mills. My husband Archie and I moved to St. Louis Park, had two children, and found our life here. After that, I started my own business and spent my time volunteering in our community.

That’s what fueled my passion for my work with Planned Parenthood, where I championed women and their families, and it's a big part of what brought me to the United States Senate.

I've spent so much of my life fighting for the people of Minnesota and folks across the country, but I have so much work left to do. When I told you I first ran for office to make a difference, I wasn’t kidding — and folks like you supported me because they wanted to make a difference, too.

So, here comes the part where I have to ask:

Will you add a donation to my campaign for U.S. Senate before the end-of-month deadline? Every dollar will immediately help our team launch the next phase of this campaign and fight back against any attacks from Donald Trump and outside Republican groups:

Your support makes an incredible difference for our campaign and my work for the people of Minnesota. Every penny allows me to continue fighting for our values in Washington — and if we're successful in the coming weeks, I'll get the chance to continue our important work.

Thank you.
