ICE has crossed a dangerous line, John.
Federal immigration agents have killed two U.S. citizens in Minnesota. ICE continues to deny people basic constitutional rights, including breaking into homes without a judge-signed warrant and sweeping up people with no probable cause.
And now this administration is arresting journalists for doing their jobs — criminalizing protest and press coverage in the process.
That should alarm every one of us.
Last week, dozens of members of Congress stood their ground and voted against funding ICE, even as leadership warned of a shutdown. They understood what was at stake: you don’t reward lawlessness with more money.
But instead of resolving the crisis, Congress passed a short-term deal that delays the decision for just two weeks. That means ICE funding is coming up again, and the pressure to cave will be intense.
That’s why we need to act now.
Congress must hear, loudly and clearly, that any bill that funds ICE is unacceptable. No more excuses. Add your name to demand Congress defund ICE before it’s too late >>>
Onward,
