I’m honored to have the endorsement of more than 100 Black religious leaders from across Cook County. 



They understand what’s at stake. This is a defining moral moment for Cook County with growing threats to food assistance, health care, immigration protections, and our democracy itself. They know meeting this moment requires leadership that’s been tested and proven.

I’m also proud to be endorsed by ICIRR Action, which stands up for the rights of immigrants and refugees and believes in full civic participation for all.

Moments like this demand that we speak up, stand up, and defend our neighbors.

Just weeks into Donald Trump’s presidency, Cook County was targeted because we are a Welcoming County. The goal was intimidation. I stood firm — and the case was thrown out.

When federal agents came to Cook County, I issued an executive order keeping ICE out of County facilities.

I will continue to stand up. My opponent won’t.
