Every year, EMILYs List recognizes a woman currently serving in a state or local office with our Gabrielle Giffords Rising Star Award. This award highlights a leader with a promising career in public service, and honors her for showing the same dedication, determination, and commitment as our award's namesake.

The recipient of the 2026 Rising Star Award will not only be honored at our annual We Are EMILY event this spring, but will also know that the millions-strong EMILYs List community sees her work and has her back!
Past recipients have included Virginia Delegate Adele McClure, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, and former state representative and now U.S. Rep. Emilia Sykes (OH-13). These women have made a huge difference in their cities, states, and our country.
