Friend,

I have spent my life rooted in the Nebraska soil. I grew up on a small farm where I learned the value of grit and compassion while feeding hogs before dawn. If there is one thing my experiences as a teacher and small business owner taught me, it is that you cannot solve a problem until you take the time to truly listen.

Now that I have officially launched my campaign for Governor, that commitment to listening is more important than ever. In Lincoln, we see too much politics as usual. Our current leadership is too focused on political noise. To me, leadership is not about having the loudest voice in the room. It is about having the ears to hear what people are actually going through.

Whether I was serving on a local school board or chairing the Education Committee in the Legislature, my first step was always to start a real conversation. I want to bring that same common-sense, compassionate approach to the Governor’s office.

As we move forward in this race, I want to hear directly from you. I am not interested in what the political insiders think. I want to know what is on the minds of everyday Nebraskans.
