FROM THE CHAIRMAN

________________________________________________________

Last week's SD9 election is over and it's time to evaluate what we've learned with a vision to our future. We know the weather and timing (off cycle, special election) both played a significant role. We also know that we need to ensure that our messages of freedom, transparency, and opportunity are reaching all voters.

Do we want to continue to lower our property taxes? Do we want to ensure election integrity is being pursued? Do we want leaders that will work with the state and federal government to protect our borders and families while working to keep Tarrant County affordable for those families? Our voters have told us that the answer is YES to all of those objectives.

In order to achieve these, each of us must stand up, show up, and speak up to preserve our conservative governance amid the leftist attacks that would seek to destroy all that we hold dear. Get Out The Vote must be our rallying cry and #1 objective.

And speaking of election integrity and transparency, we have just confirmed a full hand-count audit of this last election. All ballots, including absentee ballots, will be hand sorted and counted using Tally/Caller teams of 5 people each. These teams are bi-partisan and consist of members from the Tarrant County Elections Ballot Board. What a great opportunity to identify what’s working—and where we can improve.

I sincerely hope that each of you enjoys the beautiful weather and time spent with your families this weekend. After all, they are the best reason we have to work hard and keep Tarrant County RED!

Chairman Tim Davis

Paxton Sues CAIR

The lawsuit was filed one week after Abbott called on Paxton to act. “The Texas Attorney General is the only elected official charged with regulating nonprofits that may be violating the law, like CAIR,” Abbott wrote.

Paxton said, “I am in full support of Governor Abbott’s lawful declaration that CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood are foreign terrorist organizations, and it’s imperative that they are stopped from operating in Texas.

Permitting Efficiency

The reviewers evaluated 500 U.S. cities with populations of at least 50,000. Cities were assessed on permitting speed, transparency and communication, and year-over-year improvement.

Fort Worth received an overall score placing it ahead of every other city nationwide!

"Congratulations Fort Worth!"

"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it, and then hand it to them with the well fought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same.

And if you and I don't do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it once was like in America when men were free."

- Ronald Reagan, March 30, 1961
