Don't miss this chance to help.

6 hours left to raise $10,000 before midnight.

I wanted to make sure you saw the message below from Gina – families in Yemen already suffering from five years of violence are now struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is a crisis on top of a crisis, and to solve both, we need to tackle the root problems causing the violence. That's why we launched a 24-hour campaign to match the first $10,000 donated to the Oxfam America Action Fund before our midnight fundraising deadline, so we can demand change.

Please, don't wait. Read more below about how your gift will help to lift up the voices of those in need and make your matched gift to the Oxfam America Action Fund before our midnight fundraising deadline tonight.

Sincerely,

Ken Mallette
Membership Director, Oxfam

Right now, the people of Yemen are facing unimaginable violence. Every hour for the last five years, more than 90 people have had to flee their homes, and more than 100 have gone hungry.

And now COVID-19 is spreading across the country, "adding one more layer of misery upon many others," according to the UN relief chief. The death rate of COVID-19 in Yemen is 25% – five times the global average.

The conflict in Yemen and the scale of devastation as a result of COVID-19 are inextricably linked: amid the on-going crisis, only about half of the health centers in Yemen are fully functioning, and more than half the population has no access to clean water – which means no ability to wash their hands to prevent the spread of disease.

We're pushing for action to end the root causes of the devastating violence that have caused this crisis, but we urgently need more support to do so. That's why we're launching a 24 hour emergency match campaign to raise $10,000 for the Oxfam America Action Fund to fight for families in Yemen and beyond.

Will you join us to fight the laws and policies that keep people trapped in poverty? Make a donation before our MIDNIGHT fundraising deadline and it will be matched >>

Oxfam has assisted more than three million people in Yemen over the past five years, including providing more than one million people access to clean water and sanitation services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our team has been training community volunteers to spread virus prevention tactics, distributing cash so families can buy essentials, and launching work opportunities for women.

But truly stopping the crisis in Yemen requires addressing the root causes of it, including calling for USAID to pause its suspension of aid to northern Yemen.

Through the Oxfam America Action Fund, we do this work, calling for negotiations to end the conflict in Yemen, respect for international humanitarian law, and unrestricted imports so that Yemenis can access food, fuel, and other humanitarian aid.

We're working around the clock to stand up for those living in poverty in Yemen and across the globe, who are too often denied a voice in the halls of Congress, at the White House, and among circles of power.

Join us: Before our fundraising deadline, the first $10,000 raised will be matched dollar-for-dollar to advocate for vulnerable people around the world. Donate now >>

Thank you for stepping up to make our world a better, fairer, safer place.

Sincerely,

Gina Cummings
