Across the country, ICE continues to tear families apart, criminalize
immigrants, and operate with next to no accountability. It’s traumatic and
has cost people their lives.
And yet, in the face of recent tragedies, we’re seeing incredible
strength.
In Minnesota, people are rising together — peacefully, courageously — to
take a stand after ICE shot and killed Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and Keith
Porter. And across the country, we’re seeing neighbors, organizers, and
people showing up to protect one another, document abuses, and demand
better.
That kind of collective action matters. It’s proof that even when systems
fail us, people don’t. And this is how change is made.
That’s why we’re uplifting opportunities to take action that actually keep
people safe and build long-term power.
One of those opportunities is through the National Lawyers Guild (NLG).
For decades, the NLG has stood alongside movements for justice providing
Know Your Rights trainings and critical tools that help people protest,
organize, and protect themselves when law enforcement or federal agencies
are involved. Their work helps ensure that people can stand up for their
communities without standing alone.
If you’re asking, “What can I do right now?” — this is one answer.

Rights training and help bring legal protections to the people who
need them most.
