John,

Last year, the Trump Administration proposed deep cuts to NASA in the largest-scale attack on the agency in its history.

This is personal to me -- I served as NASA Chief of Staff under President Obama.

I’m proud that, working with my colleagues, Congress rejected the cuts to NASA. But there is still a whole lot of work left to be done. As the vice-ranking member for the Science Committee, I’m now working to pass the NASA Authorization Act, which governs all of NASA’s activities.

This bill has passed out of committee and is moving forward in the House. I added and passed eight amendments to this bill -- more than any other member.

This is a huge step forward in my fight to focus on jobs that working families in our district rely on, protect our communities from wildfires, and maintain leadership in space and science abroad and at home.

But I can’t do it alone: Will you sign my petition today to protect NASA?
