Earlier this week, I had the privilege of delivering my fourth budget address as Governor — where I laid out my vision to build on all the progress we’ve made together.
I’ll tell you more in a second — but the truth is this: In order to build a stronger, more affordable, more prosperous Pennsylvania for years in the future, we need to win the next election, John. And I need this team in my corner to do it. Please, can you chip in just a few dollars to support our movement here in Pennsylvania? [[link removed]]
John, I know government can be a force for good in people’s lives. I know because I’ve seen it over the past three years.
Our kids are getting a better quality education. Our workers have more opportunities to chart their own course. Our economy is growing, and our communities are safer.
We’ve done that work, together. And John, we’ve done it in a way that shows we respect all people — no matter what you look like, where you come from, who you love, or who you pray to, or choose not to pray to.
Yes, we’ve made great strides over the last three years. But we’ve got a lot more to do.
That’s why my budget directs $565 million more to the schools that need it most through the new adequacy formula we created together.
I’m calling for sustainable, recurring funding for mass transit — so every Pennsylvanian has a way to get to work, go to school, and travel wherever they need to go safely and reliably.
I’m calling on the legislature to double down on our work expanding the supply of child care workers across the Commonwealth.
And yes, I’m calling on the Pennsylvania Legislature to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.
At a time when dysfunction and chaos define our federal government, Pennsylvania is showing the nation that we can be a model for steady progress when we come together, treat others with respect, and find ways to extend a helping hand to our neighbors.
That’s what I’ve done for over three years as your Governor — and it’s what I’ll continue to do here in Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania is on the rise — and I’m determined to keep it that way, John. By bringing down costs and protecting our most fundamental freedoms. If you’re with me, I’d be grateful to have your support throughout this critical election year. [[link removed]]
