Jack — Get ready for a new Mileage Tax to charge you per mile that you drive, thanks to California Democrats! We can fight back and stop the Mileage Tax in its tracks, just like we stopped it here in San Diego — but only if you get involved ASAP!

Governor Gavin Newsom and CA Democrats love to claim they care about “affordability,” yet they've given us the highest gas taxes in America. And now, with Assembly Bill 1421, they're laying the groundwork for a new Mileage Tax that would hit working people hardest.

They claim the bill is “just a study” that aims to "replace" gas taxes with a Mileage Tax — but Californians know better. Politicians almost never repeal taxes. They stack them.

A Mileage Tax would:

  • Charge drivers 6–9 cents per mile
  • Cost the average driver $900–$1,200 more every year
  • Hit commuters, families, and rural residents the hardest
  • Open the door to government tracking of how far you drive

That’s not affordability. That’s hypocrisy.

Democrats created this mess by wasting transportation funds — now they want you to pay again just to get to work, school, or the grocery store!

The only way to stop this is to elect Republicans in 2026 who will fight the Mileage Tax and hold Sacramento accountable. The Republican Party of San Diego County is already organizing, educating voters, and preparing to flip key seats — but we need the resources to do it. Can you chip in to the fight?

Your donation helps fund voter outreach, turnout, and grassroots organizing to defeat the Mileage Tax, flip San Diego red, and elect leaders who actually care about affordability.

Politicians see drivers as an ATM. Let’s prove them wrong.

Thank you for standing with us,

Paula Whitsell
Chairwoman, Republican Party of San Diego County

P.S. AB 1421 may be labeled a “study,” but we’ve seen this movie before. If we don’t act now, the Mileage Tax becomes reality. Chip in anything you can today to help stop it.
