As this pandemic continues throughout the country, I’M FIGHTING TO PROTECT AND EXPAND ACCESS TO LIFESAVING TELEHEALTH SERVICES FOR CENTRAL VIRGINIA FAMILIES, SENIORS, AND VETERANS.

Expanding reliable broadband internet access in Central Virginia has long been a top priority of mine. This year, I helped introduce and pass the ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE INTERNET FOR ALL ACT, which focuses on expanding high-speed internet access across rural America.
Last year, I led the fight to protect the USDA’s ReConnect Program from elimination. This critical program has provided Central Virginia with millions of dollars in new resources for broadband infrastructure expansion.

The coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated the digital divide in our communities, especially as healthcare has become virtual for so many. During this uncertain time, NO ONE SHOULD BE DENIED ACCESS TO THEIR DOCTOR DUE TO A LACK OF RESOURCES. ([link removed])
Last week, I was proud to lead the introduction of a bipartisan bill that would keep the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program funded. This much-needed investment would allow additional Virginia healthcare providers to maintain and expand their telehealth services, as well as serve more of our vulnerable neighbors.
I’M WORKING TO MAKE SURE CONGRESS IS DOING ALL WE CAN TO PROTECT CENTRAL VIRGINIANS, AND ALL AMERICANS, DURING THIS PANDEMIC. That’s why I’ve also advocated for a national COVID-19 testing strategy, additional support for long-term care facilities, and the use of the Defense Production Act to meet the high demand for personal protective equipment.
