Six years ago today, my twin brother Alexander Vindman and I were fired from the National Security Council after over two decades of service to our country because we blew the whistle on Trump for attempting to extort Ukraine.

After my brother testified during Trump’s impeachment trial, we were both sacked from the National Security Council. Our careers were torpedoed overnight.

And just like that, we became targets of the most powerful man in the world.

The message was clear: if you tell the truth, you pay the price.

But that never stopped me. If anything, it strengthened my resolve to keep fighting and to take our fight for truth and accountability to Congress.

I ran for office to continue that mission. And since being sworn in, I have never backed down from holding Trump and MAGA extremists accountable.

But standing up to them comes with consequences — every day is a battle when you are taking on Donald Trump. And just like when we blew the whistle, I have been met with retaliation for continuing to tell the truth.

Today, I’m a top target for National Republicans. And Trump has even launched a sham investigation against me for demanding transparency — including calling on him to release call transcripts with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He will go to any length to push me out of Congress. But I know as long as I have you with me, our movement to defend democracy will not be silenced.
